I'm going to do my homework and ask is what is possible.

the whole engine is still open to revision, all fuel pipes were also on the nomination list to make plece for some new ones.

as the original ecu can handle it  then I can consider the whole E85 story.

the engine is gona run on high compression Pistons. so a bit more power would be possible.

Look like opening of the engine was for good.

"CPS pistons" offer standard (Ø93mm) and oversize (Ø93.4) pistons for 3.0 12V -> link (check in the products). You can ask them about price and CR options. It will not be cheap. You can ask them about liners also. I have read, that someone have ordered custom liners from them.

About E85. Filip is right, all fuel system components have to be compatible with E85 and if the car is tuned for E85 you will need two maps, if you want to run on normal fuel also and for this I think you will need custom ECU. Also fuel consumption on E85 will be higher.

Here is one topic about converting to E85 -> link.

Which is this german company, that offer higher CR pistons?

the are indeed Wösner Pistons that i'n gona fit in my engine.

I have never minded the fuel consumption of the spider its mij sunday fun tool.  I only look on the meter when ist near (E) then I'm starting looking for a gas station.

at the moment I am already so far with the E85 story that maybe the cylinder head and ecu can throw a spanner in the works.

why the cylinder head will you guys think. i don't know out of wat type of aluminium the heads are casted

so as you can see the Pistons are a lot higher than stock

but also the cylinder heads are not ready yet. They will  prepared when adapter plates ready and wehn they are ported.

You need two for one engine.. :)

When the numbers get bigger, the prices get lower....

Don't ask me about that price because I have no idea, yet..

I made the model in a way that it is possible to make it with a simple 3 axis CNC mill. Even with a coventional mill it's possible with some improvisation....

Maybe it's an idea to make small production run of 10 pieces or maybe some more if there is enough interest.

Problem is, although I made great effort to make the modell as accurate as possible, they are not yet made and tried... So there is no garantee for 100% perfect fitment... yet.. B)

There's not much happened to the spider since the last update.

have the engine compartment a clean up.

still have a little further research in the area of the camshafts. the rz/sz camshafts are so far to measure was the same as the 916 3.0 12v camshafts. the catcams are a bit faster.

also, I have no news yet on the adapter plates  so I can also not let overhauling the cylinder heads.

what brings whole project to a stand still.

a reason that little is done to the spider was that my daily driver didn't get a fres MOT. He was rotten.

so I thought I spend some more money out and buy a car where I can drive a few years with. but unfortunately he committed suicide after 3 months. connecting rod bearings. so that was 4000 euro down the drain.

DSC03882.JPG

so I needed another car to get to my work. in the winter on a mopet 40 km is not really fine.

so I have bought a alfa 33 1.4 ie. After 2 months a rotten 33 1.7 ie After a 3 day tinkering on the 1.7 to the scrappy. and the engine and other nice parts on my own 1.4

Hopefully the 33 survives a little longer than the 156

Sorry for the super slow progress...

I checked the 3D print and found, of course, some little faults... The most important one is the fact that I offset the mounting holes for the 24V pipes to the wrong side!

Extra problem is that I have an other job where I have not the same CAD system... So I am planning for "a coffee" with my old collegues... So I can use my old CAD system to make the changes... And let them print a new one!

So far I can see the 24V inlet pipe fits well this time. :-)
