916 Spider 2.8 V6 Turbo

I wish he was more specific about the work he did to the engine control unit.

The ecu is the critical point to this car.

I wrote at the 916 chat thread that I was intersting to convert my V6 TB to a 2.8 V6 TB....

My mechanical told me,

"If you are willing to see me more often that you see your wife then lets do it!"

Well said. I will never forget that.. :D

Knowing that this was done by Squadra Tuning in Netherlands (same guys that did the Bi-motore), i don't think the ECU was the problem :) Interesting project though!

Fabio on the long gone www.gtvv6.com made a 3.0 V6 TB of his red bella. I remember it was insanely fast, 280 km/h easy as a pie!

There is no need to increase the capacity to achieve those numbers.

There are some great aftermarkets ECUs out there where you can gain hp and have a higher compression that the factory or the 2.8 V6 TB.

Offcourse you will need bigger turbine, injectors etc..

This is an old school sryle project and I do not thing that is worthed nowdays.

Kunev for example is doing a great work on his TB engine and IMO this is the best way to follow.
