Hey guys

Hey guys,

I just found the forum with the help of another Australian member and just signed up. I've been looking for a gtv/spider specific forum for a while as I love the help and like mindedness that everyone has here.

Where do I start, I live in Perth Western Australia as a mechanic at an independent alfa/fiat specialist. I owned a ph2 spider for roughly a year before I upgraded to a ph1 gtv v6

I did a few minor things to it but at the end of the day it isn't a v6

So I purchased this

And over the past 5 months I've done a couple of small things but the car still needs more work. For instance when I put the lowered springs on I was riding on the rear bump stops, so I took them out (they were mushed to pieces). But now the tires scrape on the inside of the arch, so I modified the arch liner and ground out someof the metal from inside the arch. This helped alot but the magnetti Marelli shock adsorbers arnt heavy duty enough for how low it is so I need to get some konis and fit some modified bump stops. The rims need some 15mm spacers to stick the tires out to be flush with the body.

I also aim to lower it 30 mm more and fit a cup kit to make it a lil lower.

I've made a couple of small performance mods to car too, including a cat back single muffler exhaust (it's still not loud enough so I'll get a resonator put on in the mufflers place untill I can save up enough for quads.

I've modified the inlet so I'm sucking more direct air from near the bottom of the bumper and plan to get a piece of SS tube made next time the cars in the exhaust shop. Mostly to improve the look of the car.

My wish list for the car at the moment is

1. Heavy duty shocks

2. Spacers

3. Window tint? (not sure if it will be too black with the windows tinted, what do you guys think?)

4. Lower springs

5. Poli bushes

6. Quads, ELFP and de-cat

7. Cup lips with AD rear bumper.

8. Alfaholic replica front seats (Honda integra type r seats re-trimmed in gtv style leather

9. LSD and lightweight single piece flywheel with heavy duty button clutch

10. Make the engine fast (gta cams or a 3.2 swapped straight over, not quite sure but it's a long way off)

Thanks all for reading, regards junior.

Make any comments and give any advice to would improve the look of the car.

Hi Callum

Welcome aboard.

Interesting progression from White Spider to Black GTV.

Good story.

Out of interest what does the Green sign with the white " P " mean on the back of the Spider ?

Change your country to Australia unless you serving in the military in Afganistan

Alan

Thanks for the reply.

In Australia the green P signifies you've have your licence for less then 2 years. It doesn't matter anymore as the police are quite strict over here and I lost my licence :/

Sorry I thought I changed it but must of missed it

Great story! Welcome! :)

About window tinting - IMHO it'll be too much, especially on a black GTV.

I used a product called nightshade, it's a spray on tint. In aus it's pretty hard to find it in red, opposed to its brother the black spray on tint.

Not sure it's available in other countries but here's the like tomthe Aussie stuff

If you take to further let me know, there's a brilliant guide on how to do it and get a nice shiny result on another alfa site.

It looks fantastic tho, really finish off the back end, it makes the reverse lights pink and the indicators a tinny bit red tho
