Alfa Fest 2012 - International Alfisti Meeting in Romania

Start your engines! Beautiful road ahead!

We are very happy to invite you to the 7th edition of Alfa Fest Romania, the first of many international gatherings yet to come.

The setting for this year’s festival is the stunning Transfăgărăşan road, a paved road connecting the two highest mountain peaks in Romania. It is truly a beautiful piece of engineering, or, what Top Gear named “an unbroken grey ribbon of automotive perfection”. The zigzagging 92 km road reaches its highest altitude at 2042 m, passing over 800 small bridges and 28 viaducts. A total of five tunnels, including the longest one in Romania, break into the serene landscapes. But don’t worry, your engine will love them, and you’ll hear it purr.

We, at AlfaClub Romania, a 5000 members community connected by our common passion for the italian car-maker, would be honoured to have you at Alfa Fest Romania. Because, let’s be honest, we all love talking about our Alfas, but we love driving them even more.

Other Alfa communities from Greece, Bulgaria and Serbia have already confirmed their presence.

Additional details about housing, costs and distances will be found soon on www.alfafest.ro

Meanwhile, you can follow the official event's page on Facebook.

RSVP, cuore sportivo!

      Dear Alfisti,

      This month we have 37th International Alfa Romeo Meeting in Rijeka, Croatia (31st of May and 1st June).

      On Saturday there will be an afternoon go-cart session in Opatija (touristic resort nearby Rijeka), then some barbecue and dinner in small mountain resort of Platak (30 min drive from the center of Rijeka, good roads, 1000 m height). There are rooms there available for an overnight stay. On Sunday morning there will be an Alfa parade in the city center, drinking coffie, chat and then it's race track time on Grobnik (20 min drive from downtown). Before the track, lunch is organized nearby. Race track drive is usually 3 easy rounds and then 45-50 minutes of “track day” style driving.

      Everyone is invited, lunches are paid separately, non-members of Alfa Klub Croatia pay for entrance to the race track.

      A friend has a problem on a 2002 166 2.4 JTD (150hp). When he presses the accelerator, the battery warning light turns on around at 1800rpm, then goes out on higher revs. It's off on idle.
      This is really strange. Has anyone had any similar experience?

      Hi guys,

      I'll make myself a topic here aswell. You can see my introduction topic here: http://www.squadra916.com/forums/topic/2982-nasa-from-belgium/

      So I have a Fase II GTV 1.8 TS in the color Grigio Chiaro with 150.000 kms now (bought her in 2009 with 120.000). I've already done some mods to it.

      This is how the car looked when I picked her up:

      Progress I've made so far:

      * I've replaced the driver's door because someone keyed it
      * QV Stickers
      * New Scudetto + logo (old ones were worn)
      * T-Rex exhaust tip
      * White side indicators
      * Alfa Romeo carpets (black/red)
      * Fase I black leather interior
      * New handbrake and shifter gaiters (black with creme stitching)
      * Pioneer radio/CD/MP3
      * Zender Handbrake
      * Zender Gear Knob
      * Street performance air intake chrome
      * Race grooved braking discs in the front
      * Red calipers with white Alfa Romeo stickers
      * Alfa Romeo Selespeed 17 inch rims
      * 20 mm spacers in the rear
      * Novitec 40 mm lowering springs
      * Powerflexed the rear bushes

      Plans for the future are currently: Novitec exhaust and new tires  Further suggestions for updates are always welcome  .

      This is how she looks right now:

      This pic was taken during the replacement, my car isn't that messy
