Hello Im new here.

Hi, all

new member from the UK here.

Ive had my '97 916 for almost 4 years now, and I also have a '96 916
which has been my daily driver for the last 8 months.

The blue one is very low has and suprise, suprise oil pan number 3 exploded quite catastrophically
around 6 months ago and its been sat idle ever since.
Plans are to rebuild with a dry sump system but havent put any time into that.

The red one I picked up because it was well priced, still had its pistol grip shifter and had no AC.

Slowly doing little bits on it, all the unsprung weight has now been done, just have 101 tiny oil leaks to
sort out now, 147k and still pulls okay despite the leaks.

Welcome! Blimey, your blue GTV is low indeed. Do you have many UFO sightings in your area? When this fly's by, I would look twice.

Enjoy the Alfa talk!

Welcome!

I really like your red GTV but I never saw the point in slammed cars so the blue one is, as you would say, not my cup of tea.  :)

What do you mean by pistol grip shifter on the red one?

Thats what I mean by pistol grip shifter, it has similar ergonomics to the handle of a firearm.

Yes I do agree the blue gtv is a bit silly, purely for posing, all about the road presence. The down road graphic.

It is quite understandably not everyones cup of tea, I just hope it is some peoples cup of coffee.

Thank you for your kind words on the rosso alfa.

Intrax indeed, very good damping, rebound etc.

The red car has FK adjustable coil-over fitted.

The blue car feels very progressive and does not feel at all as low as it is.

The FK kit is awful by comparison very choppy over uneven surfaces.

Few years ago I have won a "Lowest Alfa" contest on one of our national meets, but my car looks like a jeep compared to your low rider! :) I think the car is not usable that way but it's an interesting experiment! :)

Is it the Silverline X kit? I'm trying to decide what to fit to my TS eventually.

How does yours behave on worn B roads? Uncomfortable I guess, but is the kit so

hard/bouncy/choppy that it affects the handling and driving experience?

Have you driven it on the track with the FK kit?
