  1. Turbo Benzina

Very good car! I'm fan of your youtube videos with that car . What is brand of the springs? I like the red interior, it's very exotic car feel in my opinion. The steering wheel is a little "race-ish" . These OZ Superturismo WRC have good contrast with black paint but has more "rally vision". They are not light I think. Did you made engine ovehaulin. If yes, what parts did you use and change. What was the reason for that.
  2. GTV "Cup look" by ToxyMaTT

What a car, gorgeous!!! So clean and shiny. And most of your pictures a ready for wallpapers . Are you a professional photographer or this is just for hobby? By the way many members of this forum make very good and quality photos of their cars. So maybe beautiful GTV/Spider and good photographing skills is good combination for hobbies . Did you respray your tail lights cover in red or this is folio? Alfa 3.0 and 3.2 V6 have wonderful engine noise, but with right changes on the exhaust is even better . And it's not only the noise, the power also upgrades. One GTV 3.2 in Bulgaria have made +20 hp (tested on dyno) with custom made full exhaust system (including manifolds)!
  3. GTV 2.0 TS Lusso

Nice pictures of the car! This is rare color and I haven't see many with this color. Waiting for the new pictures with upgrades. 340mm discs are big one, especially for TS. What is their thickness? From what car are they or they are aftermarket rotors with custom made bells? I want to see close look of this package. The original discs on 166 are 310mm so these 340mm are on the big side for these calipers. Did your pads have full contact area with the discs?
  4. My latest Gtv

Real GTV fan for sure . The right guy for comparison between 2.0 TS and 3.0 V6 in all aspects. Waiting for picture of both together. I once heard for one interpretation of abbreviation "TS" -> "tua per sempre" ("yours forever" ). Maybe there is truth in this .
  5. 6th Interational Trackday of Alfisti.gr

Yes, he was. Maybe this year some other racing alfa will be on the car. I want to see posts from greek member of the forum in this topic . After all this is big international event in their country. Who plan to go to the track for driving or only for watching? Which days? Previous years there were GTVs on the track and on the parking. I remember one blue GTV 3.2 , he drive on the track last year. There were also several V6 tb, one grey with sport yellow shocks (Koni or Bilstein I don't know) front brake rotors with bells and Galfer calipers, changed end muffler (i don't remember "Sebring" maybe) . Can someone give more information about this car, I don't talk with the guy then unfortunately . In 2011 I think Spiderman and his GTV was at the event pic 1 pic 2 if I am not mistaken . At the event also droves several Lancia Delta Integrales .
  6. Hello

The tyres looks "thinner" to me, because of hard cornering. Maybe you have racing inclinations .
  7. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

I'm waiting to see these big brakes on the car . In that case you can't use brake heat shields as you plan in the beginning, but that's not a problem. I think that you may have to use some thinner brake pads, but that should be measured for sure. If you want to make bracket also for 330 mm discs setup you will need the exact disc that should be used for measurement (if you use 330 mm disc rotor with bells again that shouldn't be a problem ). If you ask me don't hurry with 330 mm setup! If all aspects of the car have to met the level of the brakes that should be one hell of a car .
  8. Turbo Brutale

I send you a PM. The ball is in your court . But if you think about changing of turbo (with something that will not "plug and play" on the exhaust system) variant is also to make all exhaust at once with the new turbo (in that case manifolds and downpipe should be made custom). The most easiest way to upgrade the turbo is with making of hybrid version of stock turbo - changing only of compressor part of the turbo (compressor housing and wheel or only putting bigger wheel in the stock compressor housing). With hybrid turbo you will remain turbine part of the turbo unchanged and with that the manifolds (downpipe have to be changed in any way if you want exhaust upgrade).
  9. Stickers

Nice stickers . I want one pair when they are ready. Look good on the Thanos car.
  10. Hi from Spain

Welcome! Why your front bumper don't have vents at the two sides, I thought that all V6 have these vents - one for the oil cooler and the other on the 2.0 V6 tb for the intercooler. Is that the original bumper? These wheels are from Alfa Romeo GT, right?
  11. Stockholm says Hello!

Another vote for V6. Alfa Romeo V6 engine is rewarded by Evo magazine UK : "the original Alfa Romeo V6 was the most-glorius sounding six cylinder road engine ever" . Take a ride in both cars (2.0 TS and 3.0) and choose what you like the most.
  12. Hello

Welcome! Nice 3.0 V6 24V with Aero kit (+10km/h top speed ). What size are your tyres? From picture I think that they are not 225/45/17, but maybe I'm wrong.
  13. Turbo Brutale

Trip to Croatia sounds very tempting . I want to go there, but for some Alfa event. I have seen galleries by Paso (I don know if he is the photographer ) at Grobnik. Many good alfas, especially his and alfamaniac's GTV . Sorry for lyrical digression . If you ask me do exhaust before ECU tuning. From turbo backward at 63mm(2.5") or 70mm(2.75"). In practice 63mm will probably be enough. If you lengthen your summer journey to Bulgaria, I can make you a offer for custom exhaust system from stainless steel , hand crafter by one guy in my hometown which has a workshop for such stuff . You will be very satisfied by the price and quality of the work . I'm also fan of Ultraleggeras , but the price just like wheels is also very "good" (here in Bulgaria 260E/piece for 17", 7.5J, PCD 5x100). The right sequence for upgrading of car is first brakes and handling and then power . You upgraded brakes and have suspension for installing (from what I have read FK Silverline X are good coilovers so you probably won't be disappointment) , so probably diff (Quaife is cheaper now than Q2 ) and front strut brace will be more logical steps. And you probably know that original diffs on our cars (and some other models - GTV 3.0,3.2; 147/156 GTA ... ) tend to break and broke the transmission with it and in that case follow very serious and expensive repair. So Quaife or Q2 diffs are not only for improving traction at the front wheels .
  14. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

Mmm big brakes . Is that rotors yours or this is only for picture? 35mm width is very serious, too width for these calipers. I still don't think that this combination will fit with almost any 17" wheels. I can tell you the prices for ECU models alone: - Link G4 Atom -> 800E without VAT - Link G4 Storm -> 1000E without VAT - Link G4 Extreme -> 1200E without VAT "Extreme" has more features and capabilities, but probably is overkill for our cars (unless you plan something very very serious ). Our models are with distributed spark and one coil - so only one signal for ignition. The signal to all injectors from Motronic is one from what I see in this diagram (Batch fired injection) -> WiringDiagramC.bmp From what I read in the specification of the models - Atom and Storm have 4 High Current Injector Drives. So for them low impedance injectors are needed, which have better performance in comparison to high impedance at the expense of durability. But if you want direct signal to every injector (Sequential fuel injection) - only "Extreme" support 6, it has 8 Injection Channels (so it don't mind the type of injectors). But probably other "free" outputs can be used for injectors - Atom have 4 and Storm 8 Auxiliary Outputs (so only Storm probably can be used for such task). "Atom" don't have motorsport features - Antilag,Launch control,Flat shifting, but they are not necessary for street car in my opinion. The main things about aftermarket ECU (in my opinion) is that you can use MAP sensor (and throw V6 tb big, restrictive AFM) and you have very good flexibility for control and monitoring. I'm not so familiar with ECUs (for now ), but I think that even with "Atom" can be achieved good results. If maximum capabilities is the goal - then "Extreme". For real advices and tips should be talked with guys who installed and tuned this systems. I have read that Link ECUs dealer have good success with that. So they probably are very good value for money. Of coarse there is many others ECU variants. The cheapest way is Megasquirt of coarse.
  15. Villanis GTV 3.0 V6 24V Red Style

Wonderful car, especially interior . What brand is quad exhaust? Except end mufflers did you change something else on exhaust system? From side view picture i think that either front is lowered or back is lifted . Very shiny wheels. In bulgarian alfa forum there is one guy that did "magical things" with wheels. If you like shiny wheels enjoy before 1, 2, 3 -> after 1, 2 before -> after before -> after 1, 2 before 1,2,3,4 -> after 1,2,3 before 1,2 -> after 1,2 before 1,2 -> after 1,2 before 1,2 -> after 1,2,3 before 1,2 -> after 1,2 before 1,2 -> after 1,2 before 1 -> after 1 Sorry for posting things that is not exactly on the topic (your car). If you want to clean your topic I can make another topic for work of this guy (only if someone have interest ) .
  16. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

Probably most of Brembo calipers are aluminium . Monoblock is better design than two pieces, but after all your are from top model of Porsche and all Porsches have superb brakes even old one. To be honest I did not agree with that sport air filter and more free flow exhaust don't need more specific ECU tuning (even for our old turbo cars). What is turbo pressure after Squadra chip (did you have boost gaude) and at overboost. If you go for retuning after your changes I'm sure that will make better result (not only peak value), but with prices for tuning in west Europe (richer countries ) is not worth it, only for major changes. For example I saw in Squadra price list 435Euro for our model without installation . Here in Bulgaria ECU tuning for our models is 150-250 Euro (custom tuning and on the upside for price will be with dyno ). What model Link G4 you want - Atom, Storm or Extreme . In the city where I live is the official dealer for East Europe http://www.linkecu.bg/ . I also have thought for this brand, because of value for money and the fact mentioned in the previous sentence . 6 speed box will be good because longer 6th gear and of coarse - 6 is better than 5 gears. But I think that I'm read somewhere that 5 speed box is stronger (and that is very important thing if it is true) and is it worth the money and time (and to find 6 speed box first of all).
  17. Spider 2.0 16v Turbo From The Netherlands

Very nice car and with power to match that good look . Did you measure the car on the dyno? What is the turbocharger and at what max pressure is set? Is your previous brake calipers from BMW e38?
  18. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

So you know how to "treat" the brakes and in your case probably Yellow Stuff will be just fine. I talked about the general case for street use. I haven't said that motorsport wheels (in the above example - Compomotive TH2) are not suitable for street use. Just said that race calipers are more light and compact for their potential and motorsport wheels are designed in addition to be light and strong to allow more space for brake assembly. Аnd as conclusion this "super filled" wheels-brakes configuration that you show (and I very like it ) is possible only with certain models wheels and brake calipers (in most case race version of both especially for calipers). Sorry that I did not express properly and was misunderstood . Did you plan another tuning of ECUs for proper utilization of more free flow exhaust and intake? And one more question for Squadra tuning - is the car ECUs tuning made with live maping on the dyno or you just install common chips for V6 tb? Your car was stock at that moment (from what I read) so probably common chip. P.S. Sorry for my long posts. This is just support for performance oriented GTV enthusiast .
  19. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

So you have custom made downpipe? You want to make a difference between OEM and performance pads, thats not a bad thing. Why you prefer EBC Yellow Stuff pads? Thats are more track oriented pads. I think that you will drive your car on the road most of the time and with that track pads you will have to heat up the pads with several stops and then they will start working. And if you don't push the brakes harder for a while they will "glaze"(city driving). And probably they need some more aggressive bedding procedure in the beginning. I will give you some feedback for Yellow Stuff that i have found from EBC distributor here in Bulgaria (he have a lot of feedback from its customers): - "One customer come one day to the service and he say to me - WHY DID NOT TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO WARM UP THEM, I WAS GOING TO HIT THE TYRES ON "DRAGON" TRACK" (and the man was quoted with capital letters - he talked loudly ) - "The yellows stops really brutal ... if you have patience " I saw that in EBC website they listed yellow stuff as street and track pads, maybe they have made some new compound for Yellow Stuff . It's your car and your decision. I think that for fast street and occasionally track use have better suited pads: - EBC Red Stuff - Ferrodo DS2500 - Performance Friction Z-rated (this is my favorite for next pads) - Pagid RS 4-2 Blue, Pagid RS5 Blue - Carbone Lorain RC5+ ... On picture that you show I see racing brake calipers and racing wheel (Compomotive TH2) that have "width space" inside it. With "road calipers" and "road wheels" i think that you probably would not achieve that. I saw your wheels and they have good space inside from foto, so this variant should be measured to be clear before upgrade is made . When you use Squadra tuning before or after exhaust upgrade?
  20. BG GTVv6TB

Hello and happy new year my friend . We haven't discuss our cars for a long time. I see that you have made the brake upgrade. How you find this brand "Lowtech" , i have searched a lot for variants for suspension for our model, but haven't heard of this brand at all. I did check in their catalog and saw that they have so many options for 2.0 V6 - coilovers HILOW H9.1 / H9.2 / H9.2R / H9.3 / H9.3R / H9.4 . They have very width range of height adjustment - 0-60mm on the front and 10-60mm on the rear. I'm wainting for you input on them . I like the wheels, but I'm not a fan of "black" painted wheels (personal opinion ). Why you buy so width wheels?! wheel width and optimal tyre size With what tyres size you plan to use these wheels? Waiting for your update on installation of external wastegate and the ECU tuning . I think that you have to skip the step with tuning of original ECUs (and not only you ) and save money for aftermarket ECU with MAP sensor. Megasquirt is cheapest variant, but I'm not fan of it. Other variants are expensive unfortunately . Greetings and good luck !

Nice upgrades! Did you have some plans performance wise except the exhaust? After you have upgraded your ignition leads to Magnecore KV85 you can upgrade the original coil to MSD Blaster 2 (and from there is free shipping worldwide). This coil is not recommended if you have old original leads. I want to ask you about Squadra chip that you mention. I know that they are very good. Did you mean that after all other upgrades you will go to Squadra office and they will put your car on their dyno and will custom setup the car (which is the best variant in my opinion) or you will buy and install their common chip for GTV V6 tb or you will say to them what you have done to your car and they will write the two chip with the upgrades in mind. P.S. That is question that I want to ask everyone that have or think to use Squadra tuning. I even think to make a topic for variants of setting up of ECU, especially for V6 tb (which is the only model with turbocharger in the 916 family).
  22. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

If you go for bigger than 330mm discs you can't use under 18" wheels anymore (except you go back to original configuration ), but 330mm discs will not "fill" 18" wheels (as optical aspect of the upgrade). So whatever upgrade you will make save your original break equipment just in case . Buy good performance brake pads and brake fluid. And braided brake hoses are a must , they will give you good pedal feel when braking. When brake calipers are upgraded from single piston to multi pistons the biting point of brakes start at more pedal travel, unless total area of all brake pistons for one caliper is equal to the area of the piston on a single piston caliper (like original one). The ratio between brake master cylinder bore and total area of all pistons (in front and rear calipers) is changed in that way. The rear brakes do a lot less work than the front on a front wheel drive car (V6 GTV have very heavy front end) so the rear calipers not need changing. Only good pads on the rear is enough for the upgrade, but the rear pads should be with friction coefficient less than or at most equal to the front. You will make very serious brake upgrade (braking power is never too much ), but did you have some plan for even more increasing of the power output of your engine? The main restrictor in the GTV V6 tb exhaust system is the downpipe! I will advice you to upgrade the original with custom made downpipe. If you decide to upgrade your compressor wheel and/or housing with bigger one and in that case to make hybrid turbo the downpipe should not be changed, but if you planing on changing the turbo then the downpipe should be made with installation of the turbo (and not only it ) if you want to make it one time.
  23. hello from Croatia

Welcome to our community. Wow! That would be something extraordinary! Probably you have used Alfa Romeo 155 Q4 as donor car? Please make a topic in "Our 916s". Waiting for details . That is amazing build. I have never read about something like that.
  24. 6th Interational Trackday of Alfisti.gr

Thats a very serious alfa romeo event. I have been there the last two years for two days each time (but only as visitor and not with my car). There was very good alfas. Many GTAs, old alfas prepared for race and driver by old professional drivers. Almost all cars in the parking place on the track have brembo brakes - original and upgraded. Here in Bulgaria unfortunately there isn't such real circuit and so many good sporty alfas. In my opinion this is best alfa romeo event close to my country and particularly to our capital where I live - Sofia (220km from Sofia). The friend of mine with who I go previous years will be in USA at that time and if I join to some other "alfa company" I will go this year as well (my car is in "hibernation mode" for 5 months each winter and I can't go with it).
  25. GTV V6 TB aka Shewolf

Wonderfull car! Your upgrades are spot on! These calipers are very good. The original size disk on 996 turbo is 330x34! So my advice is minimum 32mm thick disks! Disks from later GTAs are 330x32 (earlier models use 305x28) so like you say they are probably the optimal variant value for money. 2 slot disk are very expensive unfortunately . But if your budget allow look at Ksport friction rings for example with and someone can fabricate aluminium hats with desired ofset for you . If you want to install bigger than 330mm disks (355mm for example) you may have the following "problem" - pads not make contact with its full area with the disks (outside part of the pads not touch the disks, if you understand me) because these calipers are originaly for 330mm disk. These problem occur for example when GTA/GTV brembo calipers (originaly designed for 305mm disks) are used with 330mm disks. The normal variant is on the outermost part of the disk to have strip that is not touched from pads that contacted a little bit inside of the disks.
