It runs like a normal TB with a deeper exhaust sound I think.. No seats yet so only free reving so far.. All mechanical stuff is done, only interior and front bumper... And some little finishing under the bonnet, checking etc.

Wow that sound very exciting! :-)) I would be happy when my V6 TB project will run and hit even the 300HP mark! But well.. I expect something around 270horses because of the size of the turbo I choose: on the small side in favour of drivability.. So I regard my project more like a vast improvement than a radical upgrade. :-) The (Dutch) GTV Bimotore is around 500hp (not 600hp) but still a lot of power. Some time ago I came across a German GTV 3.0 24V with turbo which made a claimed 627HP.

Yes... still busy with the 100 year project... Found by accident exhaust manifolds from a 166TB... I prefere these because of the much better way they connect to the cilinder head. Of course I needed to change the connection pipes for this... "Fortunately" the already finished front connectionpipe didn't fit anyway (somehow?!?). So on the possitive side I just needed to redo one extra connection pipe (to the rear cilinders). Piping will be finished today and I make a start for some heat shielding between the sump and the exhaust connecting pipes and downpipe. That will prevent to some extend the unwanted heating of the sump by exhaust heat (and no need for a bigger oilcooler ). Don't want to use heat wrap because it's not that dureable and also will cause extreme temperature of the pipes itself which can cause distortion and/or cracking. Also need to make new brackets for the original TB heatshields. Already made a heat shield between the turbo + downpipe elbow and the engine block.

In orange this time! So far I can see the 24V inlet pipe fits well this time. :-)

Hi Kunev, outside diameter is 54mm, I guess wall thickness is 3 or 4mm. So internal diameter is 46mm at least I guess. I forgot to make exact measurments last weekend! :-S I tapered the inlet side so it is less restrictive. It is also used on the Squadra Tuning Spider 2.8 TB. So good enough for at least 325 horses and 440Nm

Sorry for the super slow progress... I checked the 3D print and found, of course, some little faults... The most important one is the fact that I offset the mounting holes for the 24V pipes to the wrong side! Extra problem is that I have an other job where I have not the same CAD system... So I am planning for "a coffee" with my old collegues... So I can use my old CAD system to make the changes... And let them print a new one!

Today, I started to create a bracket for the turbo support to the engine because I cut of the Y-piece from the original bracket because I had to reposition the Y-piece as a result of the bigger turbine housing. First plan was to let it reweld with nickel by a specialist welding company... but I prefer to keep things under my own control so completely made a new one which bolt to the 4 boltholes from the T25 flanche.... Almost finished..

Updates... While test fitting the downpipe the spotwelds broke from the modified turbo Y-piece / mounting bracket (which has to be welded with nickel, because it is iron, by a specialist welding company). So position was lost and had, together with the finished downpipe, to be spotwelded in position again... In the meantime I was searching for weeks for the hose connector for the compressor outlet I bought some time ago: nowhere to be found!?!... Somehow I thought maybe it was hidden in the lump aluminium I got lying around... So after a bit of monday evening labour I found it finally on the lathe!

Yesterday all evening TIG-welding the downpipe and today it still fitted perfectly! Fortunately no distortion because of my "expert" welding. :-) Also finished the new hose for the powersteering: now it runs inside the fiberglas bumper insert instead of the cramped area between radiator and turbo.

The exhaust mountingpoints are also done now.. All is about ready to be TIG-ed... Yesterday tailored the intercooler to the throttle piping in place. One bracket to do on this side. Next is Turbo to Intercooler piping to finish.. Also one airco pipe/hose has to be changed: a little different route and getting rid of the crazy shaped aluminium pipe (which is already repaired once). Also desided to route the powersteering pressure line somewhere in the bumper to get rid of it behind the radiator: it's just to much in a to small area... So that needs a new longer hose...

The catalytic converter is right underneath the center console... as on every car... it generates a lot of heat. There are heat shields fitted on the converter itself and on the botom of the car... just like on every car of today... Never mentioned heat from there, also on a 1000km trip at constant 140km/h with my TB. Sunshine is something different: the glas has twice the area as the roof!

Today finished the main parts of the 70mm with 5" metal Cat. All together with spotwelds for now. Next... The finale welding and the mounting points!

Maybe it's an idea to make small production run of 10 pieces or maybe some more if there is enough interest. Problem is, although I made great effort to make the modell as accurate as possible, they are not yet made and tried... So there is no garantee for 100% perfect fitment... yet..

You need two for one engine.. When the numbers get bigger, the prices get lower.... Don't ask me about that price because I have no idea, yet.. I made the model in a way that it is possible to make it with a simple 3 axis CNC mill. Even with a coventional mill it's possible with some improvisation....

Hi Kunev, I replaced my clutch some time ago. Mine is a '95 TB and was fitted originaly with a 235 clutchplate.. Well, I assume it was still the original set after just 125k.km Now a 228mm set in it: 235 was not available?! (Some years ago already)

I guess it's time to introduce myself overhere... I have a GTV V6 Turbo from '95, Blue Atollo. It has a Squadra Chip set which gives a lot more fun! (But not enough off course, never...). Currently a sleeping beauty...... Allready done: - New wishbones @ front - Completely Powerflexed rear suspension. - Bilstein front shocks (maybe change it to Koni) - Koni rear shocks - 305 Brembo on 24V hubs - Rebuild gearbox (@ my own workbench) - New clutch assembly fitted To do: - Fitting my Eibach springs - Finishing Brakelines - Installing GT28R !!! - Creating 70mm exhaust system - Installing FMIC - Get it running again! Other things: - Finishing beige Leather interior - Fitting new radiator and airco condenser - A lot! Maybe comming winter somethings are going to happen again on my 916TB... Who knows......

Super slow reply @ PHRI: It's definately not a tent, haha. Its a 2x 65m2 business unit with big overhead door and central heating with two car lifts installed. So tempertures below 10degrees C (or -10) are no problem. Some progress made: - Turbo Y-piece and a little piece of the engine block altered to make room for the bigger turbo - Connection pipes from front and rear header altered to new position / orientation from Y-piece. Even achieved a bit more clearance to avoid unwanted contact to the tarmac... - The 70mm downpipe is finshed to the drive shaft area. The rest including theflex pipe is spotwelded in position. Now I need to order the 5" (!) race kat. to complete the downpipe / kat. Even the 70mm downpipe has a bit less chance to hit the tarmac... - Made an adapter to connect the 70mm downpipe to the Original 60mm exhaust system (later on I will make this in 70mm too splitting at the rear axle in 2x 55mm) So exhaust department is quite sorted out.. But still lots to finish off course.. Next is the intercooler piping which will be in 55mm stainless & silicone. Front intercooler positioning is already done. Now find & make room for the 55mm pipe from the compressor outlet to the intercooler which has to share the space with the airco pipes from the airco compressor.
