The MOT man will be as excited by the look of the the engine and car so that when he hears the sound of Busso he just must approve the car , good luck with the MOT.
  3. Alfa gtv v6 project black edition

Courageous ... but please replace it ... as your belt has reached an age where you sooner or later might find a lots of liquorice like sticks as a residue in the bottom of the timing belt cover after an unpleasant experience.

  11. V6 TB RHD

I have heard that it was a UK based company (Bell & Colvill) who made some 10 RHD conversions of the GTV TB.
  12. VW in big troubles

Wonder if they are still interested in buying Alfa Romeo with a cash flow like that out of their business.
  13. VW in big troubles

The only thing I can think of is that ECM registering an engine that are revving but the car does not move.

  15. New Giulia

I bet the boxer engine still sounded as good as it always does even when it drank a bit more oil.
  16. New Giulia

In terms of oil consumption on the JTS so have I it to me that there was a problem with the oil scraper rings that was too soft and that the problem to some extent was corrected with the recomendation to use 10W-60 oil, but it was not quite good so in 2004 they upgraded the JTS engine with another type of piston rings.
  17. New Giulia

    BMW people react strongly to the new Giulia. <iframe width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZbhgrrQL0IY?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

    Looking good
  22. A really close call !

A friend of my turns up at my home in his Fiat Doblo that had started to sound odd and run bad some 5 km from me, and yes the engine sounded very odd and had no idle speed and lifting the bonnet revealed an engine on its way to escape through the right wheel arc. The car had a timing belt service made 9/11 last year for big bucks at a place that should know how to do it , the bolts for right engine mount was almost shredded through with about 2 mm of metal holding the bolts together so after nearly a year of driving the car they gave up and the engine mount collapsed so that the exhaust camshaft sprocket started to grind its way through the mount pushing the timing belt sideways on the sprockets ...... I wonder how many seconds there was left before the belt would have snapped.
  23. A really close call !

Markings that reveal how the timing belt replacement was carried out. And yes the timing on intake camshaft was 1,5 teeth out.
  24. A really close call !

Yes the hair stood up on my neck and I got a cold feeling in my guts when I saw this.
  25. GTV TB: GT2560R & FMIC upgrade
