It's a Hi from Sumran_Domguy

Hi all, signing up to the forum as I will be picking up a 1997 Spider up on Saturday. I have wanted one for about the last 6-7 years and when I was having a little browse of the old tinterweb waiting an age for the mrs to get ready, i came across it, and had to have it.

Few small jobs to do to it to take it in the direction I want it to be, but nothing tooo drastic for now. I am looking for a specific set of wheels for it, that I can hopefully make work as it is all part of the dream! Sadly I won't be letting on about which wheels until I have found, test fitted, refurbished and fitted the wheels. But they aren't your standard wheel shall we say!

I am a mechanic by trade so I will be doing all the jobs on the car myself, apart from paintwork, and one of the first things on the list will be to get it up on the ramp and give it a good going over.

I am in Swansea, South Wales, UK incase anyone else is around this area. I only see one other spider with an older chap driving it and can't remember the lastime time on saw a GTV.

Anyway, I'll pop some pics up of the old girl when I give her a good old clean hopefully on Sunday, depending on the hangover!

Hi all,

Managed to take a few photos of the car on the weekend. I'll try and update them once I have sorted a few other niggles out and go from there.

For now, here is a photo from the outside

And a little one from the inside

The gearknob will be changed when I find a better replacement or a standard version. But it will do for now.
