over the years i have had every colour carpet now so a old pro but for anyone interested in swapping out there carpet this is a good guide, http://www.alfaowner.com/Forum/alfa-gtv-and-916-spider/356193-project-black.html

the main thing is to make sure the air bag lead is threaded through the carpet

Wow... that's all been a lot of work. I love to see a car saved from the clutches of the breaker's yard, or left to rot on someone's drive.

Impressive!

:(  :(  :(

Those engines are unbelievable

Sorry to hear that. Are you going to rebuild the engine?

Not sure what to do, rebuild engine £1500 or second hand one with all belts done £700.

This will really slow down the v6 project as I had £550 put aside for the cambelt but if I repair the spider that will be gone. Might have to sell the 156 sport and throw the money at both 916s but the 156 is fantastic on diesel with 50mpg.

Got some thinking todo, might have to loose a alfa

Thanks guys, it's starting to come together now, the paint work needs major some tlc to be fair lots of little scratches i will get some close up pics.

Yep buddy the exhaust is next old one off and straight in the bin lol

post-125-0-63619300-1429644487_thumb.jpg

The quads ready to go on, but bumper needs to be cut first as well as sourcing another exhaust hanger bracket.

post-125-0-58792900-1433283185_thumb.jpg

So next few jobs after rear exhaust and new front down pipe is fitted, fitting the powerflex doglegs, fitting the brake compensator and fitting steering gaitor then cambelt time.

Well it was baking hot today a rare thing in the uk so really missing my spider, thinking of maybe having a fiat coupe 16v turbo engine dropping as sick of the twinspark, it only had a new cambelt kit fitted a month before the Big Bang lol!

Hello bud, yeah the exhaust is good, been on and off a few times as it needs to be perfect matching on both sides so a few minor adjustments still needed more so to the brackets but sounds like a absolute beast!:D

not to much off a update she's been sat for about six months now im busy (moving house need a garage) i have changed over the front brembo and fitted the powerflex dog legs so nice and tight. Very easy job 45 mins a side made easy with a deep 22mm socket and a wizzy gun.

Well exhaust finally fitted three months later after hours of adjustments, tweaks and measuring. I'm think I'm getting fussy Lol!

Cutting the bumper was easy, just used card from a old box of cereal and dawned around original exhaust groove. Then flip the card over and use as a template on the other side of the bumper, measure the distance from defuser style edge and mark around it. I used a jig saw to get close to the lines and then filled the edges down so nice sooth curves and edges, took longer but worth it, I was temped to use a dremil but one mistake and ruined!!!

post-125-0-23052500-1440193230_thumb.jpg

Once I was happy with the measurements and the look I tighten everything up
