Hi 916 enthusiasts,

Congrads with this nice spot for 916 enthusiasts.

As a active member on the dutch 916 forum Joris pointed out this forum to me.

I live in holland and owned several alfa's, 75, 156, and some 916's ;)

My interest for the 916 started some years ago.

I have a sort of list of cars i want to own, the 916 gtv was one car on that list.

I had to have that beautifull V6 engine ...

After my search we bought an black 3.0 v6 24v fase 1 GTV.

Ofcourse this was the base, it needed some work.

New brakes, oilcooler, timingbelt, wishbones, etc ...

I had the green light for buying that car only if i bought a set of zender siena's fot that car.

My wife ,and I, really love those siena's, one of the best looking wheel ever (and the BBS le mans ;) ).

No problem, for me ...

Bought the car, joined the dutch forum, fixed the problems and started the search for siena's ...

Those wheels where rare and hard to find.

At one time i saw this beautifull engine damaged spider in germany, on the orginale zenders, not the late repro's.

I thougt why don't i buy this car and sell the remaining parts, and from there on the story is known in holland ;)

So i bought a few other damaged cars and slowly upgrade mine, and helped some forummembers with theire needed parts ...

Unfortunately, i saw a nice mini cooper s, and sold my GTV ( in parts :happy0045: ).

But during my mini time in still looked at the gtv's ads ...

A few weeks ago i decide to sell the mini and buy another v6 gtv.

But i don't want the same car twice B)

So i started my search for a v6 gtv cup, but lhd v6's cups are rare.

The attraction for the v6 cup is so strong i bought an rhd cup in the UK.

Now the plan is to modify this car and make it lhd ...

So at the moment i have an v6 donor for some needed parts.

I finnaly found a welder who does the body work.

And now i am planning to buy a damaged cup for the remaining parts ...

I hope to start the real deal in february.

First i have to strip to v6 donor in about 2 weeks.

14 dec i planned tp pick up the damaged 2.0 ts cup.

Strip it in 3 a 4 weeks ...

Then it is time to stip to UK v6 cup, do the welding and wiring and build it up.

If the project succeeds, the car gets a respray and a nice set of siena's

The condition of the car is worse than i thought.

Have a problem with the ecu, probably started with a bad battery (know problem on GTA's).

Also lots of rust under the car.

To fix those problems i bought another donor B) , a damaged sportiva v6 24v.

A red gtv cup V6 is my old time favorite ! I am still going every week through the adds.

Unfortunately only small number were made LHD for Suisse market ( very difficult to export, not like germany or italy ).

Why are you rebuilding the rhd cup ?

Seems to be a big job .... Is it only to change from RHD to LHD ?

I thought about buying UK spec V6 CUP and just get used to drive it RHD.

I am rebuilding the car because i know i will not get used driving rhd.

I rode it a few times, getting in and out the car

You will not find a lhd v6 cup, if looking for years now ;)

So will try to create one ...

Yes, it is for know only the change from rhd to lhd.

I just want to know how light can be a GTV as a track day car.

I stripped about 7 916's.

Most of the weight is in the chasis, engine, front and rear supension, isolation, seats and glass ...

So there are a few items which can be lightened.
