I've got my self a 98 Gtv 3.0 and want to have a little fun with it. Namely lower it a little without ruining the ride quality, and squeeze a little more power out of the Busso. I spent a fair bit of effort and money just to get her going at 260 000kms and am fighting to keep her alive. So far I've done all the usual service items, and fitted god awful novitec coilovers as well as a GTA flywheel/clutch.

Je suis de France, au Mans, je suis propriétaire d'une Alfa 916 spider 2.0l TS de 2002, et immatriculée en 2004.

Ce spider a commencé sa vie en Italie, près du Lac Majeure, à Vergiate, puis après qques années, il est parti vivre en Allemagne, au service d'une femme qui l a utilisé pendant 8 ans environ avant d'arriver en France en 2023.

Il a été acheté par 1 personne qui en a pas pris bien soin, et 8 mois après, il l'a remis en vente, et il est à moi depuis.

Cette voiture a vécu, elle ne présentait pas très bien, beaucoup de choses à revoir, que je refais petit à petit.

C'est une série spéciale "elegante lux" de 2002, sortie à qques centaines d'exemplaires, avec peinture bleu lightening 427B spécifique, cuir caramel specifique et jante cup.

Elle a la clim et la capote électrique et totalise actuellement 99500 kms. J'ai fait environ 8000 kms en moins de 2 ans.

I've been a huge admirer of the 916 series since it first came out some 30 years ago.

Family and professional circumstances have prevented me from buying one in the past (though, on countless occasions, I have come very close to pulling the trigger on a whim).

Fortunately these circumstances have now changed which means that I'm about to treat myself to one for my coming birthday in December!

I really look forward to your advice and suggestions as this site has proven to be a treasure trove of info for all current and prospective owners (as a long time lurker, I would know).

New member, just joined today. Looks like an awesome community. Based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Owned the 2003 2L JTS Spider for approx. 5 years. Been tucked away in a garage for the last few years. We gave her a clean & polish yesterday. All excited again! Made the decision to put back on the road and enjoy our pending warmish weather:)

Some questions.

Looking at EB Spares GTA 17 inch wheels. Worth the effort? They look great. We had a GTA a few years back. 

Suspension upgrades? Koni service the front on V6 but not the 2L, any alternatives?

One of our issues with the Spider is a power steering hose leak. Quite complex on RH drive 916's. Anybody by-passed the pipes and ran rubber hoses only.

Last one! Alfaholics Stainless Steel exhaust system. Anybody purchased? Makes the right noises and no drumming?

Appreciate any assistance.

The 916 series are aging so well. Ours is a keeper:)

I’m a new owner (bought it last week) of a beautiful 1995 bright red 916 Spider 2.0 TS. I’m Dutch but have been living in central Italy since 2015. I’ll be going on my first road trip with the car tomorrow to the central Italian Appenine mountains. I hope this forum helps to keep my and all other 916s in a good state and on the road, as our roads need more beauty next to all the boring and ugly SUV boxes on them today.

I bought a second hand 916 Spider in 1998, liked it so much I bought a new one in 2000 and I still have it. Looking forward to many more years of driving it.

My name is Thomas and I live in Austria. I drive Alfas since 1998.

The first one was a 1998 146 1.6 TS, than a 2002 156 SW 1.9 JTD

followed by a 159 1.9 JTDM in 2006.
2017 a sold the 159 and bought a Giulia 2.2 JTDM  / 150HP.

I loved all of them, I bought them new. And I do not like SUVs...
 

Strange: I was never interested in convertible cars and the 916 Serie

were the only cars I never noticed in the Alfa showroom.

I knew them, but I was never interested in them...

I never took place in a Spider or GTV until 2023.
I was always interested in buying a 2nd Alfa just for fun and so a really realized that
the beautiful 916 GTV / Spider are the perfect cars for Alfas "just for fun".
In 2023 I bought a 2003 Spider 2.0 JTS in a good shape and did a "ight restoration".

I absolute love driving this car, just for fun, just for driving.

And yes, sometimes in summertime I also use the Spider for driving to work with opened roof.
 

This summer my life-long dream finally came true!
I got a GTV! It's a 2.0 V6 TB, which seems to be uncommon here in Sweden.

Sadly, the turbo is broken and I'm working on a solution. Also looking for an intercooler.

And a clutch kit. The clutch in this car is super-heavy and I've heard it's supposed to be feather-light.

But hey, it ticks all my boxes. Post-98, blue, camel interior, teledial rims.
